Attorney Gushue, a civil trial lawyer since 1986, holds a Master's degree in
Environmental Engineering from Dartmouth College, and has over 35 years of experience in matters involving environmental law and engineering. Attorney Gushue handles a wide range of cases with
technical and legal issues in zoning and permitting, land ownership, land use and development, regulatory compliance and enforcement, environmental impacts, construction disputes, oil and hazardous
waste claims, and property damage claims. He routinely represent clients seeking approvals from local and state agencies, boards and commissions, and authorities, and is experienced in dealing
agencies such as the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection, the Rhode Island Department of
Environmental Management, the Massachusetts Environmental Policy Act (MEPA) Unit, and numerous others. His combination of technical and legal experience is unique and encompasses local,
state and federal administrative agency proceedings as well as litigation under environmental statutes and regulations governing wetlands, wastewater/Title 5, solid waste, oil and hazardous
waste (Chapter 21E), water quality, air quality, environmental impacts (MEPA) and zoning.
Attorney Gushue was an environmental consultant in Massachusetts from 1975 to 1987, and gained extensive experience in planning and managing multi-disciplinary environmental projects involving oil and hazardous materials regulation and disposal, and associated environmental contamination issues. He was a Principal Investigator for several major federal Superfund site remedial investigation-feasibility studies and has been counseling clients on compliance with the Massachusetts Chapter 21E program since its inception in 1983.
